Drop a penny, pick it up;
dollar worth millions.
Speak lowly and earn highly;
the people you ruin lick your boots
without their knowledge.
No law nor religion can stop
the drop of a gold mine.
Fracture the spine or kill the source;
the color purple shows no remorse.
A shade unknown to infect: the
innocent striving not to live but be
alive in a blur of color.
Friends go and family turn
like empty pages.
Books written in shiny ink filling
each sheet but not each page:
read yet unread.
Looks like the emails marked as read
so the unread count stays low.
Low is where you look
when you encounter a lesser.
Sympathy or lack of empathy share
one thing in common: both acknowledge the
problems another got and react while
sitting at a higher spot.
You walk when you think you’re running,
run, when you think you’re walking.
You talk but don’t do, walk, but don’t move.
The color knows no bounds:
unbound by prejudice, unbound by character;
if the sun shines we see color, and if
we continue to breathe, we continue to see
the Purple of within.
